Mit seinem Überhit ‚Alors on danse' schaffte Stromae seinen Durchbruch in Deutschland und weltweit. Der umtriebige Belgier, der ursprünglich aus dem HipHop-Bereich kommt, entwickelte sich seit seinem weltweiten Nr. 1 Hit weiter und wird in Frankreich heute als der neue Jacques Brel und Erneuerer des französischen Chansons gehandelt.
Ob am Strand oder auf der Tanzfläche, „Papaoutai" steckt voller Energie und sorgt mit seinen karibischen anmutenden Klängen und markanten Synthie-Beats für den perfekten Club-Sound.
Neben der Leichtigkeit, die jedermann zum Tanzen auffordert, verbirgt sich hinter „Papaoutai" eine durchaus ernste Message. „Papaoutai" ist dem französisch-afrikanischen Dialekt entnommen und bedeutet wortwörtlich „Papa, où t'es", zu Deutsch „Papa, wo bist du".

„Papaoutai" feiert in Frankreich (#1), Belgien (#2) und Niederlanden (#3) bereits große Charterfolge.

This song is dedicated to a forest tribe that I invented for my fantasy world (in which the novel will take place), the Alvae (Alva in Singular). I used Celtic instruments as well as a full orchestra for this song and wanted to give it several mood changes; Peaceful, ethereal, mysterious and a sense of pride and honour. It was difficult for me to show each aspect of the Alvae in this song because their characteristics are very complex.
The tribe of the Alvae will not be mentioned in the fantasy book itself that I'm writing because the story takes place several millennia before the tribe even emerges so for now this song is the only thing you'll get to „see" from them, I'm sorry.^^ I will maybe write an own novel about them in the future but at the moment I can't tell whether or not it will happen.
