-------------------------
Jennifer Lynn Connelly is an American actress who started out very young in the industry and made it very big. She started child modeling at the age of 10 when her father’s friend pursued the Connelly family to use her good looks for print and television commercials. For her first appearance in Hollywood movies, she was asked to perform a ballet routine. Connelly landed her lead roles in Italian movies and English language movies only when she was a teenager. Slowly and gradually she was making a mark for herself in the industry but all the attention and daunting work in the movies overwhelmed her and she decided to take a break and study drama in the Stanford University. She featured in the breakthrough role of her film career in the movie ‘Requiem for a Dream’ and after that there was no looking back for her with lead roles in movies like ‘A Beautiful Mind’, ‘Blood Diamond’, etc. For ‘A Beautiful Mind’ Connelly was honored with prestigious awards like Academy Award, Golden Globe and BAFTA. The Character of ‘Alicia Nash’ that she portrayed in the movie was critically very well received.
--------------
Childhood & Early Years
Jennifer Connelly was born in Cairo, New York, to Ilene and Gerard Connelly. Her father was a clothing manufacturer and her mother an antiques dealer. She was raised in Brooklyn Heights where she attended Saint Ann’s school.
---------------
Career
Connelly auditioned as a child model when she was 10, at the suggestion of a friend of her father’s. Her modeling career started with the Ford Modeling Agency and she appeared on the cover of several magazines and Japanese pop songs.
In 1984, Connelly appeared in a Hollywood movie for the first time, in ‘Once Upon a Time in America’. She performed a ballet routine in the movie. During the same time, she made her first appearance on the television.
She got her first lead roles in 1985 with the Italian horror movie, ‘Phenomena’ and ‘Seven Minutes in Heaven’. These movies did not do wonders for Connelly’s image but it got her the required media exposure and attention.
In 1986, Connelly played a teenager in the fantasy film, ‘Labyrinth’. Her performance in the movie was highly criticized and the movie itself bombed at the box office but it became a cult film later.
She took a little break from acting to join back school and make sense of the things as her acting career was growing larger. Connelly joined Yale in 1988 to study English and later joined Stanford to study drama.
In 1990, Connelly’s parents encouraged her to join back movies and she left Stanford to act in ‘The Hot Spot’. Although the movie did not achieve commercial success but her performance in the movie earned critics’ appreciation.
Connelly’s next big movies were released in 1991––romantic comedy ‘Career Opportunities’ in which she worked opposite Frank Whaley and Disney’s ‘The Rocketeer’. Both the movies failed to take her career to new heights.
In 1996, Connelly did the most controversial intimate scene with her co-star John Malkovich in the movie ‘Mulholland Falls’, in which she played the role of his mistress who gets mysteriously murdered.
Connelly took a break from the commercial cinema and did a low budget film, ‘Inventing the Abbotts’, for which she gained critical acclaim. The following year, she did ‘Dark City’, and her performance as ‘femme fatale Emma’ charmed everyone.
In 2000, she appeared in what is considered as the breakthrough film of her career, ‘Requiem for a Dream’. She played the emotionally heightened and difficult role of a woman who gets addicted and becomes a prostitute.
Connelly gave another brilliant performance in ‘Waking the Dead’. Previously, the director of the movie was of the view that she is not a serious actress but the clips from her recent movies changed it.
Next came the most prominent movie in Connelly’s life, ‘A Beautiful Mind’ in 2001, in which she played the role of Alicia Nash, wife of schizophrenic mathematician, John Nash. She won an Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA for it.

I know this is incredibly lazy of me, but I just had to do this one for the fun of it, we could really use that right now. These tracks were really hot during the summer and fall of 1981 when megamixes were new and really hot. A total of 3 12 single only releases, 20 mins + of Stars On 45 Megamix Megamix featuring the Beatles, Abba and a lot of unexpected surprises of songs you probably love. Back in the early 80's there was this phenomenal DJ mixed bootleg megamix that used clips of original disco and pop songs and at the centrepiece was the use of Beatles hit singles with a heavy disco back beat behind it. It used just about every popular disco song up to that point, but the most interesting part of the mix was when «Funkytown» came up and in a flash of brilliance, the DJ inserted «Boogie Nights» two word refrain where the guitar lick should have been and that hooked me. Then its a rapid fire 60's revival starting with the guitar line from Shocking Blue's «Venus» and then the short run of Beatles hits. The Stars On 45 hits were the result of revenge by the producer and copyright holder of the recorded performance of Shocking Blues #1 hit «Venus» who felt cheated on the royalties and created the band to recoup his losses. I own a copy of that bootleg disco mixer that was sold to me from under the counter at the Entrepot Du Son (now defunct) in Quebec City. It's pretty amazing and stirred up the dance floor in a way one song could not, and I knew it was a sign that the DJ was getting out of the booth for a bit since it ran for a little over 16 minutes. The copyright holder contacted producer Jaap Eggermont, who was honing his craft with these types of medleys. Eggermont chose a few songs from that bootleg and made the Beatles the focus of the 12" only release. He assembled four Dutch singers who closely resembled the Fab Four and had them record the songs first and then put them to the bare bones disco beat. Now this was in the day before computers simplified production and we were working with reel to reel tape, editing by using a white grease pencil to diagonally cut the tape to create the edits and then taping the backs together. That is really hardcore old skool! The song went #1 in Holland, spread to Europe, then it conquered the world. I have about 15 completely different bootleg megamixes. Here I have assembled the original Beatles mix, along with two special 12' releases, the first features the ABBA megamix and the second was the Stars On 45 III that contains clips from «Star Wars», «Kung Fu Fighting», «Layla», «All Right Now», «Fire» and a bunch of other unexpected pleasures. Again, yeah this is lazy of me, but I'm going to use it for my cardio tomorrow morning.
[Pre-chorus:]
Whoa oh whoa oh
This is what I wanna do
Whoa oh whoa oh
Let's have some fun
Whoa oh whoa oh
One on one just me and you
Whoa oh whoa oh
[Chorus:]
Boom boom boom boom
I want you in my room
Let's spend the night together
From now until forever
Boom boom boom boom
I wanna double boom
Let's spend the night together
Together in my room
Whoa oh whoa oh
Everybody get on down
Whoa oh whoa oh
Vengaboys are back in town
