Following the ways of the ‘Great Spirit’, Armin van Buuren, Vini Vici and featuring artist Hilight Tribe entrance their followers with a freshly conjured hymn. By calling upon the tempestuous bassline, thrilling melody and tribal chants to do maximum damage, they conjured a piece of marvel that’s sure to fuel the sonic fire. Judging by the global reception, the ‘Great Spirit’ is not the only entity that approves of this offering.
Highly anticipated since the release of four individual remix packs, Armin van Buuren’s full ‘Balance’ remix album offers a mouthwatering range of close to fifty remixes, spread nicely over all corners of the dance music realm. Featuring amazing twists and club-tailored edits alike from tastemakers such as Steve Aoki, Lucas & Steve, Deorro, Nicky Romero, Cosmic Gate, Blasterjaxx and Third Party, ‘Balance (Remixes)’ shows listeners a whole new world to explore.
'Great Spirit’ was made in collaboration with Israel’s Vini Vici and Hilight Tribe in 2016, and I never thought it would go on to sell certified gold in Sweden. I ended up playing this track on almost every big festival throughout the summer season, mainly as a mash-up between the original record and the remix version from Wildstylez. It was one of the first tracks I did that drew inspiration from the Psy-Trance scene. Lots of great memories!
